Product Overview
Biochemazone Artificial Perspiration – Custom pH, Not Stabilized, ANSI/BHMA A156.18 BZ142 is a ready-to-use, sterile artificial sweat for testing builders’ hardware and finishes to ANSI/BHMA A156.18, the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association standard for materials and finishes. Door levers, knobs, pulls, push plates and locks are handled thousands of times, and the perspiration test shows whether a finish on a given base material resists the sweat left by hands. The standard pH is 4.3; this Custom pH version is made to any pH from 2 to 9 at no extra cost.
This formulation is offered not stabilized only. It is preservative-free: no preservative or stabilizer is added, so nothing is present that could protect or attack the finish under test. It has a 6-month shelf life unopened. State the pH you need in the order notes or by email.
The solution contains amino acids, minerals and metabolites that simulate the composition and pH of human eccrine sweat, and is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system. BZ142 is used by architectural hardware manufacturers, plating and PVD coating shops, lacquer suppliers and test laboratories to qualify finishes on brass, bronze, stainless steel, zinc and aluminium base materials.
