Product Overview
Biochemazone Synthetic Stool BZ593 is a non-biological faecal simulant matched to Bristol Stool Form Type 7 (watery). Products that handle stool – diapers, wipes, faecal-management devices, toilets and cleaners – are hardest to test with watery stool, which spreads quickly and leaks through gaps that formed stool cannot.
Type 7 is the grade offered for online sale. Other grades of the Bristol Stool Form Scale are customizable and a quotation is available on request: hard (Types 1–2), normal formed (Types 3–4), soft (Type 5) and mushy (Type 6).
The simulants are built on published synthetic-faeces recipes (see the review of synthetic human faeces, Penn et al. 2018) using yeast, dietary fibre, cellulose, oil and salts, with the water content set for Type 7. It has a pH of about 6.8 (range 6.5–7.5), within the normal range of human faeces, and a realistic brown colour.
The material is pathogen-free, consistent from batch to batch and safe to handle in an ordinary laboratory. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
