Biochemazone Simulated Fetal Bovine Serum BZ467, trade name BioFBS™-467, is a sterile, ready-to-use, synthetic, animal-free and fully defined substitute for fetal bovine serum (FBS) at pH 7.4. It is chemically defined and free from animal- and human-derived components; every ingredient is purified and precisely defined, so there is no lot-to-lot variability and no need for batch testing. It contains no hormones or cytokines, so it does not introduce bias into an experiment.
It is formulated to give the pH, mineral composition and growth-supporting conditions that cells need for proliferation, differentiation and maintenance. BZ467 is used in mammalian cell culture, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, drug development, biomaterial testing, biotechnology and biomanufacturing, toxicology and safety testing, and in vitro diagnostics and assay development.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. For cell culture, ask for the preservative-free version, which is made without antimicrobial and antifungal salts, or the Powder Version Kit. It needs no thawing: it is ready to use from the shelf or the refrigerator. Shake the bottle well before use. The pH, ionic strength and nutrient profile can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
