Product Overview
Biochemazone Pig In-Vitro Digestion Fluids BZ683 supply the stomach and small-intestine steps used to estimate the digestibility of pig feeds in the laboratory. They follow the multi-step approach of Boisen and Fernández (1997), in which feed is incubated first with pepsin at low pH and then with pancreatin at near-neutral pH, and the undigested residue is measured.
Two fluids are offered, singly or as a set. The stomach step is a phosphate buffer acidified to a pH of about 2.0, with pepsin. The small-intestine step is a phosphate buffer at a pH of about 6.8, with pancreatin. Pepsin and pancreatin are of porcine origin and are animal-derived; they are supplied as pre-weighed powders to add on the day of use. The antimicrobial and the large-intestine enzyme step used in the full method are not included.
Check incubation times, enzyme amounts and pH in the published method or your in-house protocol. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
