Product Overview
Biochemazone Pet-Food In-Vitro Digestibility Fluids BZ706 are a two-phase set for estimating the digestibility of dog and cat foods in the laboratory. They follow the general approach of the pepsin–pancreatin method described by Hervera et al. (2007) for extruded dog foods, in which the food is first incubated in an acidic pepsin phase and then in a near-neutral pancreatin phase, and the undigested residue is measured.
The kit contains a gastric buffer at pH 2.0 with a separate vial of pepsin, and an intestinal phosphate buffer at pH 6.8 with a separate vial of pancreatin. The enzymes are supplied dry and added on the day of use, so their activity is not lost in storage. Both enzymes are animal-derived (porcine). Enzyme activity is reported for each lot.
Incubation times, temperature and sample weights should follow your validated method. Check the details against the published method you are following. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
