Biochemazone Artificial Rectal Swab Matrix BZ388 is a sterile, ready-to-use, preservative-free semisolid matrix for stool and rectal swab samples, at pH 8.4. It is the medium used to carry rectal swab samples: a transport medium for the transportation and preservation of specimens, primarily stool and rectal swabs.
BZ388 gives laboratories a consistent matrix for work with rectal swabs and for developing and testing the methods used on them.
It is supplied preservative-free, so that no preservative acts on the organisms in the sample. It has a 6-month shelf life unopened and should be used within 5 days once opened; a dried Powder Version Kit is available on request. The pH and the contents can be customized to the project. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
