Biochemazone Artificial Fingerprint Solution (JIS K 2246 Compliant) BZ554 is a ready-to-use, lipid-based contamination medium that replicates the sebum residue of a human fingerprint for controlled laboratory testing. It deposits a realistic fingerprint film on a surface, so that anti-fingerprint coatings, oleophobic surfaces, cleaning performance and material durability can be evaluated reproducibly.
The solution mimics fingerprint chemistry with a controlled mixture of fatty acid, triglyceride, sterol ester, hydrocarbon and squalene: about 45.1% oleic acid, 24.8% triolein, 19.4% cholesterol oleate, 4.1% liquid paraffin, 4.1% squalene and 2.5% cholesterol. It is a transparent to pale-yellow oily liquid of low to medium viscosity and low volatility that spreads, adheres and forms a thin, uniform lipid film as a fingerprint does. It is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents.
Unopened, BZ554 has a 1-year shelf life at 2–30 °C. Being an oil blend, it has no pH. What surfaces can BZ554 be used on?
It is used on glass, ceramic, metal, polymer and optical surfaces, including touch panels and display cover glass. Apply it by the stamp, wipe or transfer method your test specifies.
Does the solution contain water or have a pH?
