Biochemazone Artificial Acid Rain and Leaching Fluids BZ660 are ready-to-use extraction fluids for leaching tests on wastes, soils and building materials, and for acid-rain weathering studies. Buying the fluids ready-made saves preparation time and gives the same fluid for every extraction in a project.
Four fluids are offered. The TCLP fluids of US EPA Method 1311 are acetate buffers: fluid #1 at pH 4.93 ± 0.05 and fluid #2 at pH 2.88 ± 0.05. The SPLP fluids of US EPA Method 1312 are made with a sulfuric and nitric acid mixture to simulate acid rain, at pH 4.20 ± 0.05 or pH 5.00 ± 0.05. The pH is measured and recorded for each batch.
The methods ask for the fluid pH to be checked before use; please do this in your laboratory. Check fluid selection and limits in the current text of each method. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
