Product Overview
Biochemazone Salt-Spray Test Solutions BZ640 are pre-weighed, high-purity salt packs for corrosion test cabinets. Each pack is dissolved in purified water to give the 5% sodium chloride solution used in ASTM B117 and ISO 9227, with the acid and copper additions for the accelerated tests. Using low-impurity salt removes a common cause of failed cabinet checks.
Three solutions are offered. Neutral salt spray (NSS) gives a collected solution with a pH of 6.5–7.2. Acetic acid salt spray (AASS) is acidified to a pH of about 3.1–3.3. Copper-accelerated acetic acid salt spray (CASS, ASTM B368) adds copper(II) chloride and is also at a pH of about 3.1–3.3. A small bottle of glacial acetic acid is included with the AASS and CASS packs for final pH adjustment.
Supplied dry, the packs ship cheaply and keep for two years. Check the purity, concentration and pH limits in your edition of each standard. Made under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
