Product Overview
Biochemazone Reconstituted Freshwater BZ638 is synthetic dilution and culture water for aquatic toxicity tests with Daphnia, fish and algae. Using a defined reconstituted water instead of natural water removes an important source of variation between tests and laboratories.
Three waters are offered. ISO 6341 test water (calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride) has a pH of 7.8 ± 0.2 and a hardness of about 250 mg/L as CaCO₃; it is also accepted as dilution water in OECD 202. US EPA moderately hard water has a pH of 7.4–7.8 and a hardness of 80–100 mg/L; US EPA hard water has a pH of 7.6–8.0 and a hardness of 160–180 mg/L.
Aerate the water before use until the pH and dissolved oxygen are stable. Measured pH, hardness and conductivity are reported for each batch. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
