Product Overview

Biochemazone Cortland Saline BZ719 is a physiological saline for freshwater fish, originally developed for trout. It is used to keep fish tissues and blood cells in good condition during dissection, perfusion, organ-bath work and cell handling.

The saline contains sodium chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium salts, phosphate, sodium bicarbonate and glucose, at a pH of about 7.8 (range 7.6–8.0) when equilibrated with the gas mixture used in your method. It is sterile-filtered and contains no animal-derived ingredients.

Marine fish have higher plasma salt levels; a marine teleost saline is available on request. Check the formulation against the protocol you follow. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
