Product Overview
Biochemazone Simulated Bovine and Equine Plasma, Serum and Urine BZ713 are surrogate matrices for developing methods that detect veterinary drug residues in cattle and prohibited substances in horses. They give a drug-free, consistent background for calibrators, spiked controls, extraction trials and carry-over checks.
The plasma/serum simulants contain electrolytes, glucose, urea, creatinine and albumin at levels based on published bovine or equine reference ranges, with a pH of about 7.4 (range 7.3–7.5). The urine simulants reflect herbivore urine, with urea, hippuric acid, creatinine and high potassium, at an alkaline pH of about 8.0 (range 7.5–8.5). Albumin is bovine serum albumin (animal-derived); the urine simulants contain no animal-derived ingredients.
Surrogate matrices do not replace real-matrix validation. Check the requirements of your residue-monitoring programme or racing authority for matrix-matching. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
