Product Overview
Biochemazone Simulated Minipig and Porcine Matrices BZ697 are analyte-free surrogate matrices for bioanalytical methods used in pig and minipig studies. Real porcine plasma and urine vary from animal to animal and contain endogenous compounds; a defined simulant gives a blank background for calibration standards, method development and dilution work.
Three matrices are offered. The simulated plasma and simulated serum contain albumin and electrolytes at levels based on published porcine reference ranges, in a buffered base with a pH of 7.4 ± 0.2; the plasma version also contains K2EDTA, the anticoagulant commonly used for collected plasma. The simulated urine contains urea, creatinine and salts and has a pH of about 6.5 (range 6.0–7.0). The albumin is of bovine origin.
A surrogate matrix must be shown to behave like the real matrix in your own method validation; see ICH M10 for the approaches used for endogenous analytes. Contact us for the composition details you need for your validation file. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
