Product Overview
Biochemazone Synthetic Faecal Matrices BZ689 extend our Dog Synthetic Fecal Material (BZ562) to four more species: cat, calf, pig and poultry. They are negative matrices for developing antigen rapid tests and PCR assays on faeces, where the sample matrix strongly affects extraction, flow on lateral-flow strips and PCR inhibition.
Each matrix is built from insoluble fibre, soluble organic matter, lipids, bile salts and electrolytes, balanced to the diet of the species: the calf and swine matrices have more plant fibre, and the poultry matrix includes uric acid (urates), since birds pass urine and faeces together. Typical pH values are about 6.5 for feline, 7.0 for calf, 7.0 for swine and 6.5 for poultry (overall range 6.0–7.5); the measured pH is reported for each batch. No bacteria, viruses, parasites or antigens are present.
The bile salts are of animal origin. Diarrhoeic (watery) versions can be supplied on request. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
