Product Overview
Biochemazone Standard Hard Water BZ626 is the dilution water used to prepare disinfectant test solutions in efficacy tests. Hard water contains calcium and magnesium, which reduce the activity of many disinfectants and detergents, so efficacy standards require products to be diluted in water of a defined hardness rather than in purified water.
Two types are offered. EN hard water is prepared as described in European suspension and surface tests (for example EN 1276, EN 13727, EN 13697), with a total hardness of 300 mg/kg calculated as calcium carbonate and a pH of 7.0 ± 0.2. AOAC hard water is prepared at 400 ppm as calcium carbonate for AOAC use-dilution and related methods. Both are sterile-filtered and their hardness and pH are recorded on the certificate.
Hard water should be used fresh; BZ626 is made to order and shipped cold. Check the hardness your method edition requires. Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
