Biochemazone Simulated Serous Fluid BZ291, also called artificial serous fluid or synthetic serous fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of serous fluid. It is supplied at pH 7.4, and the pH can be customized to the project requirement.
Serous fluid, or serosal fluid, is any of the body fluids that resemble serum: typically pale yellow, transparent and of a benign nature. It fills the inside of body cavities. It originates from serous glands, whose secretions are enriched with proteins and water, and from mixed glands, which contain both mucous and serous cells. Serous fluids assist digestion, excretion and respiration. BZ291 gives laboratories a general serous fluid of constant composition for in vitro research.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. Because it contains protein, keep it at 2–8 °C if it is to be stored for a long time. The formulation, minerals, organic content and pH can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
