Product Overview

Biochemazone Simulated Rabbit Plasma, Serum and Urine BZ695 are surrogate matrices for the rabbit, a standard species in developmental toxicology, ocular and dermal studies, and antibody production. They support bioanalytical method development and standard and QC preparation without the need for blank rabbit matrix.

Plasma (K2EDTA) and serum contain albumin, globulins, glucose and electrolytes set from published rabbit reference ranges, with a pH of 7.4 ± 0.1. The urine reflects the herbivore urine of the rabbit, which is alkaline, with a pH of about 8.2 (range 7.6–8.8). Real rabbit urine is cloudy with calcium carbonate crystals; this simulant is supplied clear so it can be pipetted and analysed easily. All three are free of drugs.

The proteins are of bovine (animal) origin; no rabbit material is used. For regulated work, show parallelism with authentic matrix as required by ICH M10 and your own SOPs. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
