Product Overview
Biochemazone Feline Simulated Gastric and Intestinal Fluids BZ702 are dissolution and stability media for oral products intended for cats, such as tablets, chews, pastes and treats with active ingredients. Human or canine media do not reflect the cat, which has its own gastric acidity and bile composition.
The gastric fluid is an acidified salt solution with a pH of about 2.0 (range 1.5–2.5), offered with pepsin or enzyme-free. The intestinal fluid is a buffered medium with bile salts and phospholipid and a pH of about 6.8 (range 6.5–7.2). Pepsin (porcine) and bile salts are of animal origin.
Published data on feline GI fluids are limited, so these media are a starting point based on the available literature; we can adjust pH, bile-salt level or enzyme activity to match your data. It complements our Artificial Canine Gastric Fluid (BZ515). Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
