Product Overview
Biochemazone EPA Method 1340 Extraction Fluid BZ606 is the extraction fluid of US EPA SW-846 Method 1340, the in vitro bioaccessibility assay for lead in soil. The fluid is 0.4 mol/L glycine adjusted to pH 1.50 ± 0.05 at 37 °C with hydrochloric acid, simulating the acidic stomach. The bioaccessible lead measured with this method is used to estimate relative bioavailability in site risk assessments.
The fluid is made with trace-metal-grade reagents in ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water and checked for pH and lead blank before release, so the extraction does not add lead of its own. It is supplied in bulk sizes for laboratories that run the method routinely.
Because the method specifies the pH at 37 °C, always verify the pH at the extraction temperature before use, as the method describes. Prepared under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
