Product Overview
Biochemazone Canine FaSSGF and FaSSIF BZ667 are fasted-state biorelevant media that simulate the stomach and small-intestinal fluids of the dog. They are based on the canine media described by Arndt et al. (2013, European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics) and are used to predict how drugs dissolve in beagle studies and to develop veterinary tablets and chews.
Canine FaSSGF is an acidic gastric medium with a pH of about 1.5 and a low level of bile salt and phospholipid. Canine FaSSIF reflects the higher bile-salt content and more alkaline pH of the fasted dog intestine, with a pH of about 7.5. The bile salts are animal-derived, and the phospholipid is lecithin.
Each kit contains pre-weighed buffer salts and a bile-salt/phospholipid powder, with instructions for making the medium in purified water. Check the compositions against the original paper and your study protocol. Made under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
