Biochemazone Artificial Eye Mucus Fluid BZ336, also called synthetic eye mucus fluid or simulated eye mucus, is a sterile, ready-to-use viscous fluid that simulates the composition and pH of human eye mucus, the mucoid discharge of the eye. It is supplied at pH 7.2; the pH can be customized within the range 7.0 to 8.0.
It is a viscous fluid that gives a real mimic of eye mucus, and it is formulated according to official testing methods as well as published research data on the use of artificial eye mucus. It has been used mainly by diagnostic companies for the testing of prosthetic eye devices, by the biomedical, lens and optical testing industries, and by laboratories as a matrix for quality control preparations.
