Product Overview
Biochemazone Amphibian Ringer’s Solution and Holtfreter’s Solution BZ716 are salines made for amphibians. Amphibian body fluids are more dilute than mammalian ones, so mammalian Ringer’s is not a good match for frog and salamander tissues and embryos.
Amphibian Ringer’s is a sodium chloride saline with potassium and calcium, buffered with bicarbonate, for isolated nerve, muscle, heart and skin preparations. Holtfreter’s solution is a more dilute salt solution used for rearing and handling amphibian embryos and for explant culture. Both have a pH of about 7.4 (range 7.2–7.8) and contain no animal-derived ingredients.
