Product Overview
Biochemazone Fluoride-Containing Artificial Saliva BZ655 is made for corrosion testing of titanium, titanium alloys, nickel-titanium archwires and other dental alloys in the presence of fluoride. Fluoride from toothpastes, mouthwashes and prophylactic gels can attack the protective oxide film on titanium, especially at lower pH, so it is a key variable in dental corrosion studies.
The base is Fusayama/Meyer artificial saliva (potassium and sodium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium phosphate, sodium sulfide and urea) at a pH of about 5.3. Sodium fluoride is added at 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2% or 0.5% (about 226 to 2,260 ppm fluoride), covering levels used in published studies to represent mouthwash and toothpaste exposure. A fluoride-free base is offered as a control.
Fluoride levels and pH differ between published methods; check them against your study, and we can supply other levels or acidified versions. The fluoride content of each batch is recorded on the certificate. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
