Product Overview
Biochemazone Sunscreen and Insect Repellent Test Lotions BZ619 are reference lotions for testing how plastics, paints, leather, textiles and coatings in car interiors, electronics and sports equipment stand up to the personal-care products people put on their skin. Sunscreen filters and the repellent DEET are among the most aggressive household chemicals for plastics and soft-touch coatings, causing softening, staining, whitening and loss of gloss.
Two lotions are offered. The sunscreen lotion is an oil-in-water emulsion containing common organic UV filters at levels typical of high-SPF products. The insect repellent lotion contains a high level of DEET (N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide). Both have a pH of about 6.0–7.0. Supplying the same lotion every time removes the variation of retail products, whose formulas change without notice.
Automotive chemical-resistance specifications such as GMW14445 call for sunscreen and insect-repellent exposure; check whether your specification names a particular product before substituting a reference lotion. Each batch is made under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
