Product Overview
Biochemazone Mock Cyst Fluid BZ565 is a laboratory-formulated simulant of the fluid contained in benign body cysts – the serous, protein-containing, near-neutral fluid aspirated from renal, ovarian, breast, thyroid, pancreatic and other cystic lesions. Formulated at pH 7.4 on an isotonic electrolyte base, it reproduces the appearance, ionic background, protein content and low viscosity of a typical serous cyst aspirate without using any human or animal material.
Prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, each batch is standardised so that phantom, device and assay results are consistent from lot to lot. The fluid is supplied ready to use and is pathogen-free, making it a safe stand-in for patient-derived cyst fluid in laboratories, training centres and manufacturing environments.
BZ565 is used as a cyst-mimicking fluid in ultrasound, CT and MRI phantoms and procedural training models, for the testing of aspiration needles, drainage catheters and sclerotherapy or injection devices, as a sample matrix for cyst-fluid analyser and assay development, and as a realistic demonstration fluid for radiology, pathology and laboratory education. Viscous (mucinous) and haemorrhagic-tint versions can be formulated on request.
Key Features & Benefits
