Biochemazone Simulated Transcellular Fluid BZ279, also called artificial transcellular fluid or synthetic transcellular fluid, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution that simulates the composition and pH of transcellular fluid. It is supplied at pH 7.4, and the pH can be customized to the project requirement.
Transcellular fluid is the fluid that fills the chambers formed by the linings of epithelial cells. It is the smallest component of the extracellular fluid, which also includes blood plasma, interstitial fluid and lymph. It is largely water, and its other components, such as electrolytes, vary with the location, as does its function: synovial fluid lubricates the joints, for example. Other examples are cerebrospinal fluid, the aqueous humour of the eye, serous fluid, perilymph and endolymph in the inner ear, and pericardial fluid. BZ279 gives laboratories a general transcellular fluid of constant composition for in vitro research.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. The formulation, minerals, organic content and pH can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment. How does transcellular fluid differ from interstitial fluid?
