Product Overview
Biochemazone Xenopus Salines BZ715 are ready-to-use salines for work with Xenopus laevis and X. tropicalis oocytes and embryos. Modified Barth’s Saline (MBS) is widely used for oocyte incubation in ion-channel and transporter expression studies; Marc’s Modified Ringer’s (MMR) is used for fertilisation, embryo culture (usually diluted to 0.1x) and microinjection.
Both are HEPES-buffered sodium chloride salines with potassium, calcium and magnesium; MBS also contains bicarbonate. They have a pH of 7.4–7.6. MMR is also supplied as a 10x concentrate for labs that prepare several dilutions. The salines are sterile-filtered and contain no animal-derived ingredients and no antibiotics.
Recipes differ slightly between laboratories; tell us your formulation and we will match it. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
