Simulated Meconium Fluid (BZ455) Features & Notes
- Description: Simulated Meconium Fluid is a synthetic solution formulated to replicate the properties of natural meconium. It contains a balanced mixture of water, bile salts, electrolytes, and other biomolecules to mimic the physical and chemical characteristics of meconium. This fluid is utilized in research related to neonatal physiology, gastrointestinal function, and related fields.
- Storage and Transportation: store stimulated Meconium at 4 degrees Celsius to maintain its stability. It can be transported at room temperature for short durations without affecting its composition. However, prolonged exposure to high temperatures should be avoided to prevent degradation of the fluid.
- Usage Restrictions: Simulated Meconium is intended exclusively for scientific research purposes and should be used by qualified professionals. It is not approved for clinical diagnosis, medical treatment, consumption, or pharmaceutical use. It should be handled and stored only within research or laboratory environments.
- Safety Precautions: When handling, wear appropriate protective clothing, including lab coats and disposable gloves. Adhere to standard laboratory safety procedures and guidelines to prevent contamination and exposure.
Simulated Meconium Fluid Features & Notes
Simulated Meconium Fluid is primarily used by research laboratories to study the characteristics and behaviors of meconium, including its interactions with neonatal tissues, gastrointestinal processes, and developmental studies. It is also employed in diagnostic assays to explore meconium-related biomarkers and understand neonatal health and metabolic functions.
- Viscosity: Simulated Meconium should have a viscosity within a specified range to accurately replicate the consistency of natural meconium. This ensures that the simulated fluid behaves similarly to natural meconium in research and diagnostic applications.
- Density: The density of Simulated Meconium must closely match that of natural meconium to provide accurate and consistent results in experimental setups and diagnostic tests.
- pH Level: The pH of Simulated Meconium is set to 7.0, reflecting the slightly alkaline nature of natural meconium. This pH level ensures that the simulated fluid mirrors the natural conditions found in meconium.
- Stability: Simulated Meconium must maintain stability throughout testing procedures, with no significant alterations in its physical or chemical properties. This is crucial for ensuring reliable and reproducible outcomes in research and diagnostics.
- Color: The fluid is adjusted to mimic the dark green to blackish appearance of natural meconium, providing visual consistency during experimentation and testing.
Simulated Meconium Fluid (BZ455) Applications
- Testing and Calibration: Simulated Meconium is used for the testing and calibration of medical and research devices that interact with meconium or related neonatal fluids. This includes diagnostic tools for assessing neonatal health, devices for analyzing gastrointestinal function, and equipment designed to study meconium clearance and associated biomarkers.
- Research and Development: Simulated Meconium supports research and development in neonatal physiology and gastrointestinal health. This includes studying the composition and behavior of meconium, exploring its role in neonatal development, investigating conditions related to meconium production and clearance, and developing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for neonatal care.
- Training and Education: Simulated Meconium is utilized in educational and training settings for students and professionals in fields such as neonatology, pediatric medicine, and gastrointestinal research. It provides realistic scenarios for learning and experimentation, enabling hands-on experience with meconium characteristics and its implications without the need for actual biological samples.
