Product Overview
Biochemazone Minipig / Porcine Simulated Gastric and Intestinal Fluids BZ680 are biorelevant media for dissolution and solubility testing ahead of oral absorption studies in minipigs and pigs. The pig gut is close to the human gut in size and physiology, and minipigs are increasingly used in preclinical work, but their fluids still differ from human fluids.
Two fluids are offered, singly or as a set. The simulated gastric fluid has a pH of about 2.5 (range 1.5–4.0), reflecting the variation reported in the pig stomach, and contains pepsin of porcine origin (animal-derived). The fasted simulated intestinal fluid has a pH of about 6.5 (range 6.0–7.0) and contains bile salts and lecithin. Pig bile is rich in hyocholic and hyodeoxycholic acids, mainly glycine-conjugated; the bile salts are animal-derived.
Both fluids are based on published porcine GI data. Check the values against the data or method you use; we can adjust pH, bile salts and enzymes. Each batch is prepared with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system.
