Product Overview
Biochemazone Artificial Test Swabs BZ642 are flocked swabs pre-loaded with our artificial nasal, nasopharyngeal or throat matrix. They behave like a patient sample in the swab-handling steps of a test, but contain no human material and no pathogens, so they can be used freely in development, usability studies and training.
Each swab carries a measured amount of matrix with mucin, proteins and salts, matching our Artificial Nasal Fluid (pH about 6.0, range 5.5–6.5), Artificial Nasopharyngeal Fluid (pH about 6.5, range 6.0–7.0) or Artificial Oropharyngeal (throat) matrix (pH about 7.0, range 6.5–7.5). Swabs are individually packed. Spike them with your target analyte or inactivated organism to make contrived samples.
Swabs are prepared under Biochemazone’s ISO 9001 / GMP quality system, and the matrix is made with ISO 3696 compliant high-purity water. The mucin is of animal origin.
