Product Overview
Biochemazone Endometrial Simulation Medium (ESM) BZ409, also called synthetic endometrial simulation medium, is a sterile, ready-to-use medium at pH 7.2 that simulates the environment of the human endometrium, the lining of the uterus. It is designed to give suitable conditions for the growth and differentiation of endometrial cells and to support cell functions such as proliferation, adhesion and hormone response.
ESM is used in reproductive biology and related research: to culture embryos under conditions like those of the uterus, to study how endometrial cells respond to hormones and drugs, to model diseases such as endometriosis and endometrial cancer in a controlled environment, and to support the growth of endometrial tissue for regenerative medicine. It is also used by diagnostic companies for testing biosensor devices, and by laboratories as a matrix for quality control preparations.
It is supplied stabilized and has a 1-year shelf life unopened; a preservative-free version (6-month shelf life) and a dried Powder Version Kit are available on request. For cell and embryo culture, order the preservative-free version or the Powder Version Kit, which is prepared on site with sterile water. The formulation, minerals, organic content and pH can be customized. This simulated fluid is for scientific research and in vitro use only; it is not for clinical diagnosis or treatment. For the secretions of the endometrium see Simulated Endometrial Secretions (BZ419); for the fluid of the uterus see Simulated Uterine Fluid (BZ318).
